Place Names with Native Origins - Genealogy Fun Quiz

For those of you who took the Old Occupations Quiz last month you may be interested in knowing that the average score was 6.3 out of 10 and that approximately two percent of participants scored a perfect 10.

For this months genealogy fun quiz and article we wanted to do something about place name origins. Once we started doing some research we were immediately astounded at how many North American place names owe their origins to the native peoples of that continent. We were also astounded at how little we actually new about what those names meant and found the results very interesting. We thought you might too. To that end, this months genealogy fun quiz and article is about place names with native language origins and what they mean. We hope you enjoy it....
